As a license independent substance abuse counselor in the state of Arizona I am obligated to follow rules of confidentiality.

Confidentiality is mitigated when a person reports knowledge of "abuse, neglect or exploitation of a minor, a disabled person or the elderly."

I am obligated to notify an individual or persons and the police if someone threatens to kill another person.

If a person threatens to harm themselves or someone else I am obligated to ask them to self-admit to a psychiatric facility for observation and treatment by a doctor.  If they do not, I am obligated to have them involuntary committed.

All records are kept in accordance with Arizona Office of Behavioral Health and the Arizona Office of Problem Gambling standards.

Do you or someone you love have a gambling problem?
